Eating Disorder Counseling
FOOD FREEDOM STARTS HERE
Eating does not have to feel complicated or confusing. It does not have to be ridden with guilt, shame, fear, or anxiety. Freedom from restriction, binge eating, purging, food fears, and yo-yo dieting is possible.
Unraveling the Struggle with Food & BODY
Eating disorders and disordered eating do not discriminate. They affect people of all genders, bodies, sizes, and backgrounds. Whether you have a diagnosed eating disorder or simply feel trapped in a constant cycle of body shame and food rules, your pain is valid and healing is within reach.
Chronic Restriction & Anorexia
Counseling can help you navigate your fear of food, rigid rules around eating, weight anxiety, and the physical and emotional exhaustion of chronic restriction.
Binge Eating & Bulimia
Counseling can help you break free from the painful cycle of binging and restricting, feeling out of control around food, and utilizing purging behaviors or compensatory exercise.
ARFID & Food-Related Phobias
Counseling can help you to expand your food variety, meet your daily nutrient needs, overcome associated fears and challenges, and identify strategies that help you to enjoy eating more.
Orthorexia & Yo-Yo Dieting
Counseling can help you heal from the obsession with "clean" eating, the fear of eating "bad" foods, constantly starting new diets, and feeling like your worth depends on your body size.
MY APPROACH TO Recovery

5 Foundational Principles:
Recovering from an eating disorder is a journey. It is messy, complicated, and scary at times. But it is also life-giving and deeply beautiful. I ground my work in five core values:
1. Connection NOT Control: Food freedom isn't about controlling your food and body. It is about connecting with your body’s wisdom, your emotional experiences, and your genuine needs.
2. Curiosity NOT Judgment: Instead of shaming your behaviors or trying to "fix" your pain, we approach your thoughts and food choices with gentle inquiry: "What are these behaviors communicating?"
3. Compassion NOT Perfection: Healing unfolds in an environment of warmth and unconditional acceptance. Through a compassionate lens, shame and guilt can begin to soften.
4. Inclusivity NOT Exclusivity: Every identity, body, size, and lived experience is fully welcomed. I acknowledge how systemic forces like fatphobia, racism, and diet culture impact your well-being.
5. Process Focus NOT End Result Focus :Growth happens in the here and now. We set gentle goals, but we prioritize the real, day-to-day transformation happening within the recovery process.
ARE FOOD AND BODY CONCERNS Affecting You?

Do any of the statements below sound like you?
I spend hours every day thinking about food, my body, or what I’m going to eat next.
I feel intense guilt, anxiety, or shame after eating certain "bad" or forbidden foods.
I feel disconnected from my hunger and fullness cues, or feel out of control when eating.
I constantly compare my body size or shape to others and feel inadequate.
I use exercise as a way to "earn" food or burn off calories I consumed.
I feel exhausted from years of yo-yo dieting and wish I could just feel at peace.
If you said “yes” to any of the statements above, then you are not alone. These experiences are common experiences, particularly within our diet obsessed culture. However, freedom is possible. You can have a healthy relationship with food and your body and you do not have to navigate the process alone.
An Anti-Diet, Health at Every Size Approach
Humans do not live in a vacuum. Our social environments shape our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. That’s why eating disorder recovery at Annie Beth Company is social justice-oriented, emotionally focused, and embodied.
1. Weight Inclusivity & Equity
We operate from the fundamental truth that ALL bodies are good bodies and deserve equal care, respect, and liberation regardless of size or weight status.
2. Intuitive Eating & Embodiment
Rebuilding body trust by learning to honor your natural physical signals, rejecting diet culture rules, and discovering what food freedom actually feels like.
3. Emotionally Focused Care
Eating disorders are rarely just about food. We help you explore the underlying emotional needs, trauma, anxiety, and relational dynamics at play.
4. Interdisciplinary Collaboration Eating disorder recovery often "takes a village." When appropriate, Annie collaborates with anti-diet dietitians, physicians, and medical providers to support your whole self.
